I think it is.
In fact, I would even say it's in the top 10 best albums of the 10's so far.
It's such a great album from start to finish. This is her defining album. Everything about it is perfect.
The title, what a great album title. It really does describe who Rihanna has become. The album artwork is perfect, it has this 'personal' approach. The album cover is very symbolic, it shows Rihanna naked to represent that "openness" of the album with words that represent who she is.
It's a concept album, it talks about "Rihanna". You have the songs about her winning (Fresh Off The Runway, Numb, Pour It Up) at the beginning, but as the album progresses we get a taste of what the vulnerable Rihanna is like with songs like What Now, Stay, Love Without Tragedy, No Love Allowed, Half of Me). Every song has a purpose for being on the album, which is what I love about it. It's not like Talk That Talk, which is mostly a bunch of random songs thrown in there at the last minute. Half of Me is probably the best album closure ever, basically summing up the entire ride to the end where she explains that's only the half of it.
The lyrics are amazing, they aren't as cheap and cliche as the other pop girl's. The vocals are amazing, I know she doesn't write her songs
alone but she really makes them her own! Stay sounds genuine despite not being written by her.
I could go on for ages talking about how perfect the album is but I'll stop there.
so do you agree? or do you disagree?
