Girls and ****s, i gather you all here for this meeting. It's come to my knowledge a few of you are a BIT upset with Katheryn's recent successes. Granted the "Trinity" believed there faves (Britney, GaGa, Beyonce) would snatch and tug at every weave in 2011 when it just did not happen. You built you favourite up on SUCH a high pedestal, it just didn't materialise.
Beyoncé had an eventful year releasing an instant classic with 4, having a beautiful child and re asserting herself as the only early 00's star with starpower. While 4 wasn't in the I...AM sales bracket, it still did remarkably well for a R&B album and remains the highest selling urban release this decade, beating out Channel Orange and Girl on Fire.
Lady GaGa built up BTW from late 2010, released a huge Beautiful-esque lead single and dropped a hugely experimental album. With prosthetics, outlandish costumes and cross-dressing Stef had a mixed era. The BTW tour a crowning jewel in a pretty lackluster era.
Britney Spears was...well her fanbase had extremely high hopes for Femme fAtaLE. Sadly those high dreams didn't come to fruition. Lead sinlge did mediocre well, the album failed to make a dent into Year's end list and her tour was just abysmal. Nevertheless, with X Factor Brit looked a lot like her old self again and showed a great deal of enthusiasm, something notably lacking during the FF era.
With the "Trinity" and Katheryn releasing again in 2013, will it be a repeat of 2011 or are there going to be a few surprises? Will Katheryn have a Bad sized era, emulating fellow king of pop MJ?
No one is undermining their well-deserved successes, but two things I'll never understand are: the concept of "Trinity" () and how Katy is the next MJ ()
If history repeats itself the way it usually does with pop divas following a big era (Blackout, My December, Try This, Rated R) she is destined to not do well. Hopefully she can buck the trend
It is highly unlikely that Katy will maintain the level of success she saw with the Teenage Dream singles. Michael did, but there were far more indicators of him continuing his success. For example, great album sales.

Her album sales were a BIT low because her
single sales were HIGHER. I mean, is it so
hard to comprehend?
It will be interesting to see what Katy does with her next album. Teens loved her music because it was childish and tailored to their feelings/experiences. She's what, 28 now? I don't think she can/should do that anymore, so I guess it depends where she goes with her new music.

What's hard to comprehend is how she compares to MJ when he had several major hits AND the biggest selling album of all time, whereas she has attained major success in only singles and sold less than several albums released around or after hers by artist like Eminem, Lady Gaga, Rhanna, and Adele.

Yet discussing an ENTIRE era is taking
in Single, Album, Tour, Fragrance, Merch,
TV etc etc. Is there any other artist that was/is able
to control Radio like how Katy did?
And so you remember, this thread is more about the other
"Trinity" and not just a discussion of Katy's achievements.
However perfect they are

There is a certain artist pertaining to the thread topic who I listed who outdid Katy in every area but singles. In fact, her biggest hit from her most recent album was still more globally successful than any of Katy's singles. To go a little further, I fail to understand the likely tongue-in-cheek near deification of Katy by some of her fans when there are those who remain more successful than her.
