Well, her latest singles from her 2013 effort with Epic-fail, smashed in only Japan, but ever since the three singles flopped in the US, she stopped promoting the album, instead she releases a silly-happy-everybody's-happy single "Hello Kitty" which is solely for the Asian market. "Give You What You Like" never caught the attention that "Hello Kitty" did, probably because she's good at writing irrelevant and immature music. The music video and song both OBVIOUSLY received negative reception from contemporary critics who labeled it is "immature".
I miss the Avril that wrote "I'm with You", "Don't Tell Me", "When You're Gone", "What The Hell" and "Complicated". People on Youtube usually say "she never changes", what? its been like over TEN YEARS since she released something good like her 2002 album Let Go with Arista. Her 2004 album released with RCA, had the similar feelings with "Let Go". spawning songs "Don't Tell Me", "Nobody's Home", and "My Happy Ending" which was also more different than her debut album and her fifth record.
But now, ten years later, she releases a song ("Here's to Never Growing Up") talking about alcohol (good luck driving home gurl, don't go into comatose), Rock N Roll (WTH is a Bearshark?), Let Me Go (Okay, I will "let you go", bye) and Hello Kitty (STOP. HUMILIATING. YOUR BRATTY. A$$.). The only good song released as a single from her fifth record is "Give You What You Like" which hasn't gotten much buzz, I wished that single gotten more attention than rebellious "Hello Kitty".
So am I the only one that lost interest in Avril in ANGER, because of her fifth record? Yes, the release was anticipating, but how the era performed and how Epic-fail handled it, makes me EVEN WONDER IF AVRIL LOST INTEREST in her own IMAGE AND CAREER.
Have you lost interest in Avril Lavigne? Because this era made me lost interest in
her after signing to a record label that can't do anything right.
and my feelings towards her career AS OF 2014 IS:
