Lady Gaga debuted in January of 2008 with her debut single, "Just Dance", but it and its parent record, The Fame, did not achieve success until early 2009. Since then, she has released an EP (some consider it her second album), The Fame Monster, and has released 8 top 10 US hits, three of which reached #1 on the Hot 100. Lady Gaga's The Monster Ball Tour has grossed over $200 million in its year and 1/2 run, and her second/third album, Born This Way, is one of the most anticipated albums of 2011.
So when did you begin to think Gaga would be the next big thing?
I first became interested when I saw her on The Hills... It wasn't until the impact of Just Dance and Poker Face, however, that I thought, WOW, she's going to be huge. Then, after seeing her Glastonbury performance, I knew she would become the biggest star in the world right now.
I thought she would be just another pop artist, but with a different twist, until The Fame Monster. That's when I realized she was headed for big things.

Same here, I just didn't think it would result in world ****ing domination
In my case was when she sang just dance at the miss universe in july of 2008 and when i heard the chorus of paparazzi when the album came out, im proud to say that i bought that album during it first week.
When I first heard JD I was pretty confident she would be huge. It scared me because it took forever to catch on, but it did eventually like I thought.
