This is rather late.. but I thought I'd still post it

So here's my Best of 2011 Countdown.

I'll only do Top 50 songs and maybe Top 5 albums.

#50 Rebecca Black - Friday

Probably the most hated song of all times, but its genius is undeniable. The verses are super catchy (even with those lyrics) and the chorus is so annoying that you Can't Get It Out Of Your Head. By the time the bridge kicks in, you wanna jump out of your window... oh well... no point fighting this masterpiece.. *cough

#49 Beyonce - Best Thing I Never Had

Probably the most "accessible" song 4 and sadly the only Beyonce song to make the singles list (would have been different if I made an album track list. who knows.. i might). The delivery is rather aggressive, but it's a good song nonetheless.

#48 Kesha - Blow

Yes, the club is about to blow.. cos the beat is massive.. sadly the chorus doesn't live up to the great verses and the great beat.. would have ranked much higher otherwise.

#47 Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks

On the extreme opposite here, the chorus is absolutely amazing... the vocals during the verses however

Still good enough to make the list.

#46 Bad Meets Evil - Lighters (ft Bruno Mars)

This was a rather generic rap/sung collabo, but I still liked it. Eminem's verse saves the song.

But yeah it's amazingly catchy even tho the song is BAD. The most sung song this year.

I hear it being sung everywhere especially on Friday.

#45 Lady Gaga - Marry The Night

This song might have been the closest thing to The Fame days on the album, but it had its flaws nonetheless. The chorus is definitely not very catchy and the end part is a lil too obnoxious. The verses, however are amazing, and the two-part bridge is absolutely out of this world.

*This is the first of 4 Lady Gaga songs to make the list. Guess which song out of her 5 singles didn't make it into the top 50.

#44 Coldplay - Every Teardrop is a Waterfall

This was certainly underwhelming for a lead Coldplay single, but it has great elements nonetheless.

#43 Example - Changed The Way You Kissed Me

A really great song, nothing else to add.

#42 Britney Spears - Criminal

Quite a good song, but it should have stayed as an album track. For some reason it lost its charm after it was released as a single. Amazing video, nonetheless.

#41 Daughtry - Crawling Back To You

A very good song, but certainly not a smash.

Marry The Night is amazing. It's probably her best single too bad it underperformed.

Crawling Back To You is indeed a great song tho I still feel it's lacking something.

Ye, MTN is not as bad as its chart performance

BTINH is sadly the last Beyonce song on the list. I just couldn't connect to RTW or Countdown no matter how many times I listened to them... though I truly enjoyed I Miss You & I Was Here, but they won't be eligible because this is singles only :/

CBT is great, but I agree it lacks something... some sort of umpth ..

#40 Cobra Starship - You Make Me Feel Like (ft Sabi)

Cute little song. Though I started to wonder why I put it so high...

#39 David Guetta - Without You (ft Usher)

The song has quite an epic buildup by Usher, but Guetta's instrumental part fails to deliver.

*This is one of 2 Guetta songs to appear on the list. Guess the other one.

#38 Katy Perry - The One That Got Away

Quite a good song, but not as great as previous singles. It was a good change of pace nonetheless.

*This is the first of 3 Katy Perry songs to appear on the list. The other 3 appeared on last year's list.

#37 Flo Rida - Good Feeling

Cute track. Don't have strong emotions about it though.

#36 Tinie Tempah - Written In The Stars

This was one of the first smashes this year. Quite a good songs.

#35 LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem

As much as I ~~hate~~ dislike these guys, it would be unfair to deny this a song a place on my countdown. The chorus is actually amazing. The verses are pretty decent. The instrumental part, however, puts me off big time, but that's what made it so popular in the first place... oh well.

#34 Black Eyes Peas - Just Can't Get Enough

Really enjoyed Fergie's vocals on this, but overall, I feel BEP could have done something better this era.

#33 Bruno Mars - It Will Rain

Cute song. But not a smash unfortunately.

#32 Nicki Minaj - Super Bass

Quite a good song, but I never managed to go bananas over this. The chorus is a little too "sweet" and doesn't go well with the rest of the song.

#31 Christina Perri - Jar of Heart

One of the standout tracks this year... amazing vocals throughout most of the song, amazing instrumental etc. The last chorus, however, sounds too forced and rather off. Would have charted much much higher if it wasn't for that last chorus.
