Can you be gay and still be devoted to a religion?
I've been thinking about this for a while, and a friend of mine who's muslim ended up leaving his religion behind because he believed that it would be improper to be part of a religion that condemns homosexuality. Personally, I think you can be part of a religion and pursue a same sex relationship but a considerable number of people suggest otherwise. Do you all think it's right to be part of a religion and pursue a same sex relationship?
No, if you are not going to abode by the rules you are not following the religion, you are following your own morals and path, no matter how similar it is to a religion
Well Christianity is the only true religion. EVERYONE can and should have a relationship with God. If you are a homosexual, come to God and repent, and ask him to make you a new creature in Christ, and God will help you to turn away from homosexuality. You cannot be a child of God and stay a homosexual though, because it's not God's order. So no. The "God hates f*gs" thing is a lie from the pits of hell though. God love ALL of us and wants us to be free from our sins so that we don't perish. And you must read your bible to renew your mind, and pray for God to give you understanding and wisdom before you read it.
I'm Muslin and I'm gay but I don't consider myself a Muslim anymore. I have completely turned my back against anything Islamic or anything that has to do with my heritage. It's sad, really, but I can't help it because of what I have to go through everyday.
Of course you can.
This is when faith and religion start to unfold for some people when the organized religion isn't what they were really interested in, and it was the relationship with a higher being that they admired. Their spirituality is what they aspire to uphold.
I'm agnostic, and I'm gay. I don't belong to a set religion, but more so focus on my faith and spiritually holistically.
My opinion on the matter. Might not make sense to others, but it makes sense to me.
