Former Channel 5, WNEM news reporter Tia Ewing continues to gain worldwide attention for a web video of her dancing on camera.
Ewing, now an anchor for Fox40, KTXL, busted a move earlier this month to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” while her broadcast was on a commercial break.
The cameras kept rolling and Ewing later posted the footage to YouTube for friends and family.
“Somehow it went viral,” she told The Saginaw News and MLive.
So much so that Ewing was interviewed by NBC’s “Today” show for the Thursday, Dec. 13, program, she indicated on her Facebook page.
“Today” airs from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. today.
Ewing on Wednesday was featured in a segment on CNN's "Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." Watch the clip below.
CNN reporter Jeanne Moos showed the footage of Ewing's jig while offering commentary about the history of TV reporters being playful on camera.
"What do we creatures of television do while we’re waiting to go on air?," Moos says in the segment. "We eat, we sanitize, we stare. But check out how this anchor at Fox40 in Sacramento breaks the monotony of a commercial break."
Moos called the footage and Ewing's dance "downright contagious."
The segment featured footage of other TV anchors acting playful while not reading from a script. At one point, it showed social media commentary of Ewing's dance including one Twitter remark that read, "Who's the dummy who didn’t put a ring on it? She’s single."
After it aired, Ewing left a comment on her own Facebook page: "My story was dopeness. Love me some @jeannemoos."
Ewing's video in the days prior was posted to popular online sites including The Huffington Post, International Business Times, The Daily Mail, The New York Daily News and msnNow.
Ewing worked for Channel 5 from May 2008 to May of this year, when she departed the Great Lakes Bay Region for her new job.
Footage of Ewing's dances moves is available below.
The video begins with her dancing before cutting to footage of a building outdoors. The footage then returns to Ewing, still dancing.
