He tested positive for p24 antigen, meaning he would have tested positive a few weeks/months (depending on the case here) for HIV had he not taken the antivirals. He tested positive 24 months later.
No idea if or why he didn't get tested during the treatment, unless the results were negative every time?
In laymen terms, he was infected with HIV, attempted to fight off the infection and the antivirals failed.
Trudava specifically is 92-99% effective. No one ever said it was 100%.
