Poor Tinashe. Confined to the bubbling under for a second year in a row.
I don’t know, for me her music is just lacking the
~alt rnb PEAKS that were on Aquarius. Anyway,
this is the best song on Nightride. I paid it dust when
it was released but by the summer I realised that this was A SONG, lots of replay value for me.
This song is so relatable. And she can sing! When I listened to her debut way back when I thought she rapped or whatever. Serving Azealia but not psychopathic.
I feel like this is kinda less liked than their other singles but I live for it. Very messy but polished at the same time, which is their thing I guess.
BOOKMARKED for the day that I graduate.
Hmm, Låpsley her debut was a disappointment. She delivered EPOTY in 2015 but her album was a little basic. Very ~quirky UK female singer debut with a few James Blake’d pitch distortions thrown in. This was a highlight tho. Låpsley is a great producer and the lyrics here are interesting.
Idk what to say, I just love this song, love his voice!
The DIY production on her album held back a lot of the songs tbh.I mean, EMOTION production on Kiss the Screen would elevate it to pop masterpiece level. However, here her lowkey approach works to create a smoky, sexy little jam.
I didn’t really use Esperanza’s album, she did the absolute most. However, this song is stunning. She holds back and shows off her lovely voice with some sweet melodies and chill production. Less is more sis!
wow, ruining my ~aesthetic a bit.
I just can’t motivate myself to fully get into kpop, sorry! Maybe one day. But I feel confident in saying this is Kpop SOTY. I like the reggae vibe and it sounds less trend hopping than certain western songs this year. The *Korean* *Korean* mind control part is also a highlight.
A nice feel good bop from Corinne! It’s nice to see she’s in a better place since The Sea.
That Other Girl was highkey one of the best songs and videos of 2015, too bad I got into her too late to include it my best of ‘15. This isn’t as good, but it’s very promising and a nice teaser for her album, coming next year. I’m excited!
