LMFAO has something new to celebrate:
the longest Hot 100 residence for a former No. 1 in the chart's 54-year history.
The duo's former six-week Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 "Party Rock Anthem," featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock, logs a 66th week on the survey, the song passes Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" for the longest residence by a former leader in the chart's 54-year history.
Here's a look at the Hot 100 No. 1s to inhabit the chart the longest:
Weeks on Hot 100, Title, Artist, Weeks at No. 1, Year
66, "Party Rock Anthem," LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock, six, 2011
65, "Rolling in the Deep," Adele, seven, 2011
60, "Macarena," Los Del Rio, 14, 1996
58, "Smooth," Santana featuring Rob Thomas, 12, 1999
56, "I Gotta Feeling," the Black Eyed Peas, 14, 2009
55, "Amazed," Lonestar, two, 2000
53, "Too Close," Next, five, 1998
52, "Truly Madly Deeply," Savage Garden, two, 1998
Among all titles, "Party" trails only three for Hot 100 longevity. Here's a recap of the chart's longest-lasting entries, regardless of peak position:
Weeks on Hot 100, Title, Artist, Peak Position, Year
76, "I'm Yours," Jason Mraz, No. 6, 2008
69, "How Do I Live," LeAnn Rimes, No. 2, 1997

60, "Need You Now," Lady Antebellum, No. 2, 2010
60, "Macarena," Los Del Rio, No. 1 (14 weeks), 1996
"Party" has maintained its Hot 100 presence while earning multiple honors, including the titles of Billboard's top summer song of 2011 and top Hot 100 song at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards. Its continued sales have helped extend its chart run; with digital sales of just under 7 million, it's the third-best-selling download in Nielsen SoundScan history. (Only the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" (8 million) and Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" (7.3 million) have sold more.)
"Party" has even outlasted two of LMFAO's follow-up singles: two-week No. 1 "Sexy and I Know It," which departs the chart this week after 42 frames, and the No. 49-peaking title track from the songs' parent album, "Sorry for Party Rocking."
ROOKIES REPEAT: Two of this year's most heralded new acts each bank their second top 40 Hot 100 hits.
Fun. flies 41-32 with "Some Nights." The song follows the group's introductory six-week No. 1 "We Are Young," featuring Janelle Monae. One Direction, meanwhile, lifts 47-39 with "One Thing." The boy band rose to No. 4 with its first single, "What Makes You Beautiful," which remains in the top 10 (No. 9) for a 13th week.
Another 2012 newcomer should score her second top 40 entry next week. As previously reported, Carly Rae Jepsen is likely to bow in the region on next week's Hot 100 with "Good Time," a duet with Owl City. Jepsen's maiden smash, "Call Me Maybe," rings up a third week at No. 1 this week.
