Well of course. The point is he lived and died in what is now a Turkish city. The majority of modern day Turks are actually the ancestors of the ppl who lived and existed in the ancient Byzantine Empire (in that area).

Additionally when we speak of ancient Egypt...do we name the specific empire and separate it from the word "Egypt"? Nope. We say "Ancient Egypt"...so...
