'You don't have to make a ***** out of yourself to get ahead,' Midler says in U.K. interview.
So what did Bette Midler think about those AMAs on Sunday night? According to a new interview with the U.K.'s Telegraph, she probably didn't think too highly of it -- not with all the sheer outfits, booty rubbing and a double dose of Ariana Grande performances.
Let's hear what Bette had to say: "It's always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch looking so ridiculous. I mean, it's silly beyond belief and I don't know who's telling her to do it. I wish they'd stop. But it's not my business, I'm not her mother. Or her manager. Maybe they tell them that's what you've got to do. Sex sells. Sex has always sold."
I don't really think Ariana acting "sexual" is her desperately trying to boost her career. She seems to be doing it because she wants to. Plus, I don't really think it's made an impact on her career anyways.
I semi stan for Ariana but I agree. She's naturally more cute than she is sexy, so those extremely short dresses and high heels/ stripper boots are just plain horrible, especiall combined with her girly voice, tiny frame and hairstyle.
It's only because she has a Lolita look. There's an entire industry within the sex & ****ographic industries circulating around the "barely legal" look.
At the end of the day, she's a 21 year old woman. She's not a kid. She might look like one, but she's not. So if she wants to embrace her sexuality, she has just as much right to do that as every other pop star, even if she does look a lot younger than her peers.
Bette Midler or whatever her name is such a little anti-feminist, she said the same thing bout Miley last year. She's just mad and pressed, my queens keeping ha mad!

I'd rather look like a ***** than sound as pressed as Bette Midler. She's right about it being none of her business though, now if only she'd act on that.
