Welcome to ATRL's 100 Greatest Rock Albums of All-Time, inspired by the existence and methodology of BLaCKPoWeR's
ATRL's Greatest R&B Albums. Read below for more information on the rules and how to submit a ballot!
SUBMITTING A BALLOT
You may send a ballot containing your ranked list of 10-20 rock albums to RobynYoBank before the posted deadline.
Specifics:
- Your list must be ranked
- Your list must contain at least 10 albums, but no more than 20
- Your list may contain no more than three albums from one artist. If a particular individual was active under multiple artist names, you may select up to three albums for each artist name they were active under.
- Your list may contain only rock albums or albums that you believe were influential to the rock world. Rock music is an extremely broad genre that contains sub-genres such as Alternative Rock, Grunge, Indie Rock, Britpop, Baroque Pop, and Symphonic Rock. Use your best judgment when determining whether an album is rock or not. I will not enforce the rules strictly and only disqualify albums when they are clearly beyond the realms of rock. If you want to discuss whether an album is "rock" or not, feel free to do so in the thread.
- With your list, please submit at least two sentences about why your #1 album is in your opinion the greatest rock album ever. You can write more if you feel like it. Also, feel free to submit text describing your reasoning for other choices on your list, which I might use throughout the actual countdown.
SCORING SYSTEM
Once all ballots are received, I will calculate the results based on all submitted ballots. For each ballot, the #1 ranked album will receive 100 points. Each subsequent position will receive five less points. So the #2 album on a ballot will receive 95 points, and the #3 album will receive 90 points. If a full list is submitted, the #20 album will receive 5 points.
