will.i.am: "I had no idea Britney's been in the studio"
Quote:
Britney is steering clear of her Britney Jean executive producer pal.
Britney Spears and Will.I.Am tried their hand at music together on 2011’s Femme Fatale album with “Big Fat Bass.” That collaboration never made it to single-status like it was marketed to be (it was one of the first songs she performed at one-off concerts to hype the record), but it opened the door for them to create their brilliant collaboration together, 2012’s “Scream & Shout” off Will’s fourth studio album #willpower. The song landed at No. 3 in the U.S. and scored Will his second consecutive No. 1 in the UK. That ultimately lead to Will and Britney teaming up together as co-executive producers on Britney’s latest record, Britney Jean, which was dubbed her most personal album to date. The biggest issue amongst the Britney Army? It’s not that personal, and Will’s production efforts are lackluster at best.
Since then, Britney’s enlisted the help of an array of elite to help craft the ninth LP, including English DJ, singer, songwriter and record producer, BURNS, who’s collaborated on remixes for Iggy Azalea, Calvin Harris, Charli XCX, Marina and the Diamonds, Lana Del Rey and Nelly Furtado. Brit’s also collaborating with songwriter, producer and self-proclaimed “vocal scientist” Mischke who’s written for Michael Jackson, Treysongz, Pussycat Dolls, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Spice Girls, KC & JoJo and more. We also know she’s working with Danja, songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk (who’s lent her songwriting talents to Drake, Jennifer Lopez, Hilary Duff and many more), DJ Mustard and Ian Kirkpatrick. What about Will.I.Am? A reporter for BreatheHeavy caught up with Will at the James Bond Spectre premiere in London on Monday and asked him if he was working on Britney’s forthcoming album (she was spotted at a recording studio many times in recent weeks, including yesterday).
“I didn’t know she was in the studio,” he admitted. So that’s a no then?
“I live in a bubble.”
