In what some are suggesting is the latest in a series of blatantly competitive and shady acts toward Lady Gaga, a number of sources are now reporting that Madonna upped her interest in performing at the Super Bowl after it became clear that Gaga was in the running for the slot. To add to the suspicion of the matter, Madonna has been considered in the past, but never followed through with proceedings.

In other news, it's rumored that Madonna will now be working with M.I.A. on the lead single from her next album. M.I.A. has publicly stated her dislike of Lady Gaga. The entire issue is further clouded by endless comparisons between the two pop megastars, Gaga and Madonna, reaching its peak with the lead single of Gaga's latest album Born This Way -- which some suggest bears similarities to Madonna's "Express Yourself."

As for the Super Bowl, I would so have been here for a Lady GaGa Super Bowl featuring Cher, Brian May and Beyonce.
