No way a jazz covers album actually outsold Lana Del Rey's highly anticipated sophomore album

Tony is a certified legend and also the promotion for it has been insane. Where I live anyway, they still have multiple TV commercials for it and large banners for it at the mall.

I don't know. No shade to Gaga, but Tony has older fans and older fans are known for actually buying albums, so that combined with Gaga's fans buying the album. That would be my guess.

Lana didn't promote... she just didn't care to promote? While the other 2's album was promoted in so many places and their faces all over H&M stores (Lana did it first!).

If promo = guaranteed sales, why hasn't AKA passed 80k yet despite being promoted way more? Ariana is all over radio and on literally every award show, yet has barely outsold C2C. And Lana's sales always decrease after promo.

Lana's lead single/video alone was bigger promo than all those performances/tv ads together for C2C.
