Welcome to my 2013 'Best Of'!
I can tell you that this was probably the most unprepared I've been in the four years that I've participated but I'm going to get through this!
If you've followed my CD in the past then you know me... I like to keep it simple as possible. Usually I would only do a singles list but this year I'm challenging myself to do three: Top 100 singles, Top 100 Albums and Top Tracks. That will be the bang that I will go out with as 2013 will be my last year participating in 'Best Of'.
With my list you should expect a little bit of everything - some Pop/Top 40, R&B, a little Hip-Hop/Rap, and Rock/Alternative. Also, brace yourselves because it might get a little obscure with some indie music (and I don't mean the 'Britney Jean' kind) but I'm sure most of this stuff is known. I'll be sure to provide some links for you to to discover some new tunes too.
i. Top 100 Singles
Single Deadlines: October 1st, 2012 - November 30th, 2013
I will count down my top 100 singles of the year and probably forget to include some good ones and never forget myself for doing so. But that's why I have your countdowns to tune into, right? You'll keep me posted on which songs I overlooked.
ii. Top 100 Albums
Album Deadlines: October 1st, 2012 - December 3rd, 2013
I took on the challenge of listening to as many albums as I could this year, whatever sparked my interest and whatever I got the chance to listen to; both the good and the bad. This isn't necessarily my personal TOP albums of the year but instead, its a list where I'll rank whichever albums I got the opportunity to listen to from least favorite to favorite.
ii. Tracks That Go
Acknowledging some of the album tracks, non-singles, buzz-singles, b-sides, etc. that knock but didn't make the cut.
