Poll: Did Spears Initiate Dubstep Wave?

Britney Spears and Dubstep

Members tend to quickly discredit even the slightest notion that Britney Spears brought dubstep to the mainstream Billboard chart, despite the strong "coincidence" of Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and, most recently, Chris Brown delivering dubstep in their music, of course, only after "Hold It Against Me" debuted. Is it all just a coincidence? Where was dubstep on the Top 10 Billboard chart before Britney Spears? Not to mention, the word "dubstep" was rarely uttered on ATRL before "Hold It Against Me" debuted. Does Britney Spears deserve no recognition for the wave? Thus, the question is posed one more time:

Did Britney Spears begin the dubstep trend in mainstream music with "Hold It Against Me?"

Rihanna worked with popular dubstep artist Rusko on her album Rated R, and although his tracks didn’t make the cut, the tracks of his dubstep counterparts Chase & Status did. However, Rihanna was unsuccessful in incorporating dubstep. Although Chase & Status produced the underperforming single “Wait Your Turn,” the dubstep influence was unrecognizable. If her switch back to pop for Loud was any indication, she realized that she failed too.

I voted no because I remember seeing people discuss dubstep being on the rise in 2010.

But even if she introduced dubstep to pop music she certainly didnt popularize it
