TIMBERLAKE'S TOPS: After Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience " roared onto the Billboard 200 last week with 968,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, lead single "Suit & Tie" crowns the Rhythmic airplay chart (2-1). It's his first No. 1 on the ranking as a lead artist and second overall, following his featured role on T.I.'s "Dead and Gone" (four weeks at No. 1, 2009).
"Suit," which holds at its No. 4 peak to date on Pop Songs, also becomes Timberlake's first top 10 on Adult Pop Songs (12-10). It's just the second Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs top 10 to reach the Adult Pop Songs top 10 single since Alicia Keys' "No One" five years ago. Keys' "Girl on Fire" reached No. 2 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in December and No. 10 on Adult Pop Songs last month. "Suit" has spent five weeks at No. 2 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
Timberlake's new single "Mirrors," meanwhile, blasts onto Pop Songs at No. 26.
It's difficult for white people to go #1 on rhythmic. The only white male singers to get there in the past 10 years that I can think of are Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber and Tim McGraw.
But I'm kind of surprised at least My Love didn't get there tbh.
