Welcome to my top 40 best of 2016 list! 2016 was a very diverse year in music released and I think my list definitely reflects that, to be on this list the song has to either
- be released in 2016
- have a music video released in 2016
Without further ado, here is my first installment of my top 40!
#40 THE WEEKND FT. DAFT PUNK - STARBOY

This song took a while to grow on me, but when it did,
it definitely made an impact on me, Daft Punk's production
really shines through on this song and is
the first Weeknd song to interest me in a long time.
#39 CLEAN BANDIT FT. SEAN PAUL & ANNE-MARIE - ROCKABYE

This song was one of the later additions to the list but it definitely is worthy
of a place, Sean Paul doesn't take away from the song like he does in some
of his other guest features and rather compliments the vocals laid out by
Anne-Marie. Clean Bandit's production is also stellar and really helps the song
shine.
#38 CHIP - MAD WITH IT

Likely not to be a favourite of many ATRL users, this song was one of the best
grime songs released this year, with Chip referencing his recent beefs with
Bugzy Malone and Yungen, where he went from going from the "underdog" to
the winner in many peoples eyes.
#37 DIA FRAMPTON - GOLD & SILVER

This song is the second comeback single from Dia Frampton this year, with the
subject being about her sister Meg, whom she was in a band with from 2006 to 2011.
This song is very chilling and really lets Dia show off her vocal talent and is very
deserving of a place in this list.
#36 KANO FT. WILEY & GIGGS - 3 WHEEL UPS

This song was one of the first that really made me understand how much of a
talented lyricist Kano is, with Wiley and Giggs adding their own personal flair
onto the song.

I know this first part won't appeal to a lot of ATRLers, but there will be a lot more songs that you guys will like further down the list
I agree that DP's production really shines, I can't imagine it with a different beat.
