Society considers Mariah a mixed woman because they know she has a father that's considered black and a mother that's considered white. If she wasn't famous, many people would call her white (due to not knowing her parents).
Like I said, Mariah is considered mixed because that's just what we call her. She doesn't have any "mixed black/white genes" and she didn't have some kind of "mixed identity" when she was born.
People "feeling like a certain race" is a result of racism and shouldn't even matter. Feeling like a certain gender (or no gender at all in some cases) is something all humans have. It's important for reproduction. Racial identity is made up by society.
But y'all know this and this "transracial" discussion is just something transphobes have started.
