Gaga has put out 2 full studio albums and has ran three eras , in a span of four year she's enjoyed titanic success.
Here are some of her records :
- More than100 million records sold in a span of 4 years.
- on track to reach half a billion in touring receipts
- 2.7 billion YouTube views
- More than 220 awards won.
Yes. I think so. A 100 million records? That's ridiculous. Her rise to fame happened really fast and she's at her peak right now. Now she just has to worry about longevity.
She has a loyal fanbase, so she's successful with touring, merchandise, perfumes, endorsements, etc, but her music is her low point right now. I feel that's okay with Gaga, since she is so much more than music. She's more of an 'artist' to be honest.
I don't think so. The Beatles did more in ten years than all the other pop acts that followed them. Her rate of success has been very quick and widespread, I will say.
Edit: To make myself clearer, I want to say The Beatles's first four years are more praiseworthy considering their explosion, taking into account how much technology and communication that period lacked. Beatlemania was by far the biggest craze in music/pop culture, I believe.
I guess. Most notable artists careers are unique though.
Britney holds the record for most instantaneous superstardom, for instance, and Adele must have the biggest snowballing album success...but Gaga's career probably is one of the quickest all-round industry dominances. I mean this bitch just took over.
BS or not, people were throwing around "the new Queen of Pop" stuff after only a year.
Not really. The digital era makes it a lot easier to sell big singles and really kinda inflates the whole "records sold" thing. That's why most places focus on albums when comparing, but use records in like press releases. It's always a bigger number, but selling singles is ten times easier.
I think she's having an amazing career, but it's about equivalent to Britney or Christina at the early stages/heights of their careers.
She's incredible. It was unforeseeable but she rose to fame and fortune quicker than most artists in history. No-one ever thought that platinum-haired 'bimbo' would be leading pop music 4 years after her début, but here it is.
To make myself clear. I am not asking whether or not she has one of the most succesful careers ? I am asking whether or not she had the most succesful career in the span of four years.
People are answering the wrong question. And if you would be kind enough not to just say no , but also say who you believe had a more stellar career in the 4 first years of their career run , it would be awesome.
