1D fans create #NoControlDay campaign for it to be released

Fans of One Direction started a campaign for the band to release 'No Control' as a single using hashtag #NoControlDay.
One Direction fans started a campaign for the band to release No Control as a single, after they were disappointed with the promotional handling of their latest album Four, released on November 17, 2014.
Their main goal was to use social media like Twitter and Facebook to promote the song for a whole week using the hastag #WeWantNoControlAsASingle before the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday. Fans also planned #NoControlDay which has gone viral today in order to complete their mission.
Assuming ownership of the campaign, one fan Anna wrote on her Tumblr page," Since the team who works with the boys is not helping and everything surrounding this band is making me crazy and tired, it'd be nice if for once we made the press talk about something as good as fans doing something for them on a world scale." She added, "We all agree that No Control should have been a single from Four, we all love the song and we all wanted to hear it on the radio...It doesn't matter there were other songs worth to be a single in the album, this is something the fandom loves and that has always generated a big enthusiasm."
Sheena, one of the fans who organised the campaign told Digital Spy, that Four has been overlooked as an album, as it was not well promoted. Sheena also added that No Control was the song selected as it was primarily written by Liam and Louis and showcased the band's vocal abilities.
It's clear that theses devoted fans efforts have not gone unnoticed by the band. Louis Tomlinson tweeted out a thank you messages for all that the fans were doing.
Source. And it's paying off because the song is jumping on iTunes so fast, it's top 200 in so many countries when days ago it wasn't even in the top 1500. Some radios are playing it because of it too.

I'm shocked by how much attention this has gotten. Artists, radio stations and even Sony have all acknowledged this.
Doubt their label will care, though.
It will never be a single, cause there was never going to be one...but this isn't completely organic. The fans might have made the idea, but their team obviously made some connections along the way. There's no way this many big radio stations would be getting involved so quickly like that if this was organic. Plus they're being spammed, if there's one thing they hate is being spammed. They would purposely not play a song if they're being spammed. Their team QUICKLY picked up on it as soon it started a couple days ago. A couple days ago when it had just started the biggest radio stations were all tweeting it once like it was some orchestrated event. I've never seen that in my life from just a little "Fan project" the whole thing is sketchy

It's more that the radio stations that get involved are getting good promo themselves. It's mutually beneficial.
It's got nothing to do with their lack of promotion. 1D fans started this because Naughty Boy said Louis couldn't sing and they're pressed. Only Directioners would be so delusional to think No Control showcases Louis' raw vocals.
Louis wrote the song and his vocals are clearly the most prominent on the track, who honestly cares otherwise what the reason behind it is, it was always the fan favourite and this whole thing got recognised either way

Naughty boy probably cares. The Directioners attack a new person/ group every week, last week it was Little Mix. Supporting the band is great but portraying the fans as being angels with their grass roots movement is a joke.
u sound really mad
anyways this just shows the power of 1D & their true fans
