Sarah Silverman’s rape tips for men really annoyed a lot of men.
Twitter is abuzz today, and some men are crying misandry, over a series of tongue-in-cheek “rape prevention tips” posted by the American comedian Sarah Silverman on March 21. The unapologetically potty-mouthed Emmy-winner tweeted the list, based off a blog post from a few years ago, out to her followers with the suggestion, “send to all the men in ur life.” It was quickly re-tweeted thousands of times.
We will never reduce sexual violence if perpetrators are allowed to hide behind language that implicitly or explicitly blames victims. The simple fact underlined by the list Silverman tweeted is that rape is a choice—one that the rapist makes.
Yes they're angry because usually it's women who get tips for not to get raped. Why is it so hard for some men to understand that women aren't pieces of meat? Control your damn dick
I'm upset the men took this seriously in the wrong way... Yes, it's a joke, but every joke by professional comedians carries a hint of truth that should be made clear, and if they can't see it, I feel extremely embarrassed by the horndogs of my gender...
Not them implying men have to restrain themselves form rapping people, this isn't "tea" but ignorance
The aggressor of the physical violence is ALWAYS guilty.
The men who blame the victim are implying they are not in control of their sexuality and desire and should be locked up in a mental hospital because they're a hazard to society.
