A Letter
To You:
This decision has been difficult for me, but I think I'm ready to hopefully fulfill the potential that Season Five had. I know that The Re-Up of Season Three was a mess, and I'd like to address that. I have a better grasp on the game now more than ever, and hosting before, I have experience in what to face as that too. I think one of the better things now is that I can focus on the game and have 100% control over it now. Although my co-host in Season Three: The Re-Up was amazing, thank you Dan, the charts were always inconsistent, which is something that will change now that the charts are being done by one person only. Regarding my attitude, I take responsibility for all the things I should take responsibility for and promise to be professional. In fact... I promise a lot of things.
I promise to be more organized. I promise to be professional. I promise to provide clarity. I promise to deliver accurate results. I promise that this part of the season will be bigger and better than the norm of Create a Label.
It seems that all of us know the brand of Create a Label has now just become sh*t. It's become more confusing, more messy over less, lower quality. I'd like to change that. With this season, I've decided to listen and I think I can make something work. This isn't Create a Label 5: The Re-Up, or Create a Label 5.5.
This is Create a Label 5: Back to Basics.

Point System
Each label will start out with 50 points. You will use these points to: sign artists, release material and promote. You may gain points by: participating in mini-games and having your artists' material chart. Please keep track of your points regularly.
Releasing Material
Albums + EPs
An album, or extended play, will cost 10 points to release. This does not include Remix extended plays, those are used for promotional purposes only. Each artist may only release an album/extended play once a month.
Official Singles
Official singles will cost 5 points to release. Each artist may release an official single once a week.
Promotional Singles
Promotional singles will cost 3 points to release. This will include Remixes, if they are promoted and wanted to chart. Up to two promotional singles a week is permitted.
Promoting Material
Articles
Up to thirty articles will be allowed a week, actually thirty-five if you count touring. Being as no one is able to obsess over the game on a day-to-day basis, a daily limit will not be in place. However if you are catching up or getting ahead of your promotion schedule, please note the dates they are intended for.
Televised Performances
There are many televised performances that will be free of point charge, however there are some performances which will cost points. These performances will have a larger impact on the sales of your artists' material compared to the free performances. The paid performances will be available for booking every Friday night at 7:00PM Eastern Standard Time. Each label can book up to two slots per week. Booking for someone else is allowed. The paid performances are:
Sunday Award Show (10 points) Up to two labels, one artist per label
Monday Ellen (6 points) Up to one label, one artist per label
Tuesday The Voice (9 points) Up to one label, one artist per label
Wednesday The X Factor (8 points) Up to one label, one artist per label
Thursday American Idol (7 points) Up to one label, one artist per label
Friday The Tonight Show (5 points) Up to one label, one artist per label
Saturday CAL Convention (3 points) Up to three labels, one artist per label
Touring
In order to support an album, touring is a huge part of the promotion campaign. Touring will have its own category for articles, however writing an article for the actual tour date is optional. But if you do decide to create some sort of article, you will be rewarded for your efforts with a few extra sales. To create a tour, you must have at least five dates prepared ahead of time. If you would like to host a promotional tour, please contact me for further discussion. Each tour date will cost 3 points, and only five tour dates will be allowed per week. Keep in mind, a high majority of the sales from touring will go towards your artists' album.
Thread Promotion
In order to spice up the thread a little bit and show off your artists' new material, thread promotion will be available. Thread promotion will also be available for booking along with paid televised performances, which is at 7:00PM Eastern Standard Time every Friday night. However, to book thread promotion you must PM me. Booking for someone else is also permitted here. Each label may book two slots from the three types of thread promotion. The following types of promotion are available at these costs:
Signature Promotion (10 points) Let your artists' material branch out to all of ATRL by purchasing Signature Promotion! You will send me a rather short message, which will be displayed in my signature every week (message varies) to promote the material of your choice. You may only promote one selection, meaning you cannot promote both an album and single in the signature, although the single's performance does manipulate the album's performance. Example: "Purchase Ke$ha's new album 'Warrior' on iTunes." Only one slot is available for this type of promotion.
Thread Title (7 points) Get the spotlight on the thread's title and broadcast your artists' material to the Games section! You will send me a brief phrase which will be edited into the title of the thread every week (message varies) to promote the material of your choice. You may promote two selections,
meaning you can promote two singles, a single and an album, or two albums. Example: "Buy "G.U.Y." + 'ARTPOP' on iTunes." Only one slot is available for this type of promotion.
OP Message (5 points) Get some relevance in the thread buy purchasing a little box promoting your artists' material in the OP! You can send me a message as long as you'd like to display in the OP and promoting as many selections from your label. However, if you decide to promote more than one of your artists in your OP Message, the impact of sales for each charting-eligible entry will lower. Example: "Purchase Lana Del Rey's new album 'Ultraviolence' featuring the hit single "West Coast" anywhere near you." There are three slots available for thid type of promotion.
Promotion Lists + Charts
Every week in order to determine the performance of your artists' material, you will all send in promotion lists showing off the kind of promotion your artist did this week. You will list the following: label name, artist, album, single and then your promotion. Links to each article you have done, with the exception of tour dates if you decided not to write an article for it, should be linked back for reference. Obviously, the harder you work, the bigger the reward. All promotion for each week ends every Saturday at 6AM Eastern Standard Time. Promotion lists will be sent via PM no later than 3PM Eastern Standard Time every Saturday. Two charts, one for singles and one for albums shall be revealed every Sunday in the afternoon. If for any reason the chart is experiencing a delay, the matter will be addressed in the thread.
If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your performance, please contact me and I will be happy to look into the situation.
