Please see http://www.atrl.net/games/ for the latest rules.
It can be a lot of fun to host and play games at ATRL, but before you do, there are some rules you need to know.
SURVIVOR HOSTING RULES
Only one survivor per person at a time, except personal survivors.
Whether it's an album survivor or any kind of random survivor, if you have more than one survivor going at once in the main Games area, it will be closed. Personal survivors in the sub-forum do not count.
You must wait 1 week after an album release to post a survivor for it.
This gives people enough time to listen to the album. However, this waiting period does not apply to hits compilations, because everyone has heard the songs already. Go to the "
Upcoming Album Survivors" thread to see who has the right to post it. Please use the "Report Post" feature to report someone who has posted too early.
If you abandon your album survivor for 1 week, you lose.
You have a responsibility to follow through with your album survivor. Abandoning it is not cool. After 1 week of inactivity, anyone can use the "Report Post" feature to ask to take over the survivor from the previous host.
You can decide what's eligible to be voted off each round.
But keep it reasonable. Don't have people vote off like 10 things at once (that's too many), and don't have a survivor with 100 items that goes through them one by one (that's too few).
You cannot bring back songs or items that were voted off in previous rounds.
It delays the conclusion of your survivor, annoys people, and makes your survivor biased and unfair. If you resurrect songs or items that were already gone, your entire survivor will be deleted.
You must count all votes, completely and fairly.
Don't claim votes won't count just because you dislike someone or something. That just makes you look stupid. If you fail to count all votes fairly, your entire survivor will be deleted. If you suspect cheating, use the "Report Post" feature.
Remember to post your survivor winner in the "Winners" thread.
If you start a survivor, but in the end you don't post the winner, what's the point of hosting it in the first place?
You cannot duplicate a survivor that has already been done.
Survivors for singles and videos are not the same, but any other duplicates will not be tolerated, not even "deluxe editions" or "international editions" of survivors that have already been done. Re-releases are allowed.
GENERAL RULES
No "post *****" games aimed solely at increasing post counts.
Games that can continue endlessly without the thread starter having to update are not allowed.
All simple rating games must be in the Rating Games sub-forum.
Not in the main Games area! Also, games like rate the smiley, rate the poster, and album vs. album will also have a limit of one per person. If you have more than one going at once, it will be closed.
Don't bump your threads unnecessarily.
Only do it if it is on the second page
and it's been at least 24 hours since the last post.
Do not use multiple user names to vote.
If any of the moderators catch you using duplicate user names to vote on any games, you will be immediately banned, both your first user name and your duplicates, no questions asked.
