It nonetheless failed to reach expectations. She was poised to be the biggest thing of the near, and even with all of the promotion that Interscope did, Lana Del Rey is largely unknown outside of the internet.

It's almost October 2012, and people are still using same old jokes that got old back in February. Some just ain't capable of more but cut, copy, and paste overused nonsense.

Underperformed to initial projections but gained unexpected longevity. After VG, I think the rest of the singles as a whole flopped in the traditional way (as in none of them stayed long enough in the top 5 to be called SmaSh hits, maybe SS in Germany is an exception?)

I guess you have been following LANA career more than I did coz there weren't any big promo besides AI back in april.


Her songs were not sent to radio. They didn't have big banners on iTunes. No big performance anywhere.

She has never appear on any talk show since her debut.
No actual big tv appearances.

Her album is selling solely based on the word of mouth.
