Second largest music market in the world. If she breaks Japan, then there's no stopping Adele (not that there's any stopping her anyway!). Hopefully the album will go platinum there at least in the long run, it's quite difficult for western artists to crack Japan and only a certain few ever manage to break in properly (Mariah Carey, Avril Lavigne). It'll just add even more to her incredible sales.

Utada will still hold the record for best 1st week in a sole country tho. 3 million only in Japan in 7 days is an amazing feat.

You never know with the way things are going for 25 in the US...
