Taylor, Britney, and Rihanna are in tight competition for this record. They are only three artists to have four or more (with all Rihanna and Britney having 5, and Taylor holding the record at 6) #1 debuts on the Hot Digital Songs chart, and all three may have upcoming singles that will affect this ranking. Britney begin a new era soon, the lead single of which could debut at #1 on the sales chart. Rihanna's newest era could produce a single to debut at #1 in sales. Taylor will have one more more promotional release from Red chart next week, and it's likely to debut at #1.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she ends up as the overall record holder after this era.

I didn't either - I was just listening to the flawless single "3" and remembered it had a huge opening sales week, and then I realized how her last four lead singles (if you count "3") have debuted at #1 in sales. I figured that might be pretty good and I did some research, and I even found out she had another #1 sales debut.
