Welcome to the second season of The Photoshop Game!

This game is all about Photoshop and graphic design: throughout the next month and a half, you will show off your skills in "photoshopping", and learn awesome new tips, tricks, and techniques to improve your design abilities! This tournament is as much about competing as it is about learning and becoming more fluent with that soon to be familiar Photoshop screen.



So, how does the game work?

Here are the basics:

First, you will sign up with a celebrity of your choice (a musician is recommended).

Each round, there will be a fun Photoshop challenge. Most rounds, we will use your chosen celebrities as the focal point of your design! There may be one or two challenges that will not require the use of your celebrity.



More information:

Each round, you will have to PM me the picture of your celebrity that you will be using for your design! I will approve them, or if I think that the picture doesn’t fit the challenge, you will have to change it. After all the contestants submit pictures, you will not be able to change your picture. So, choose wisely, and dig deeply for a great pic online!

What exactly will the challenges entail? Last season, challenges included, but were not limited to: game banners, hair color alterations, tour posters, and magazine covers! I have some exciting challenge ideas for this time around!

Rules!

• Obviously, you must have Photoshop installed on your computer in some manner. Any version is fine, as long as you are comfortable with it!
• Basic to intermediate Photoshop skills are extremely helpful for this game. Complete beginners may struggle with certain challenges. However, we will provide tutorial links for you to follow during the competition. You do not have to be a professional graphic designer, by any means; as long as you have the desire to learn, that is fine!
• Once signups are closed, you will not be able to change your celebrity. If the signups are still open, you can change.
• Each round will have a deadline. Please, please respect the deadline to make everything work seamlessly over the next few weeks! To make things simple, I will likely have a fixed weekly schedule, where you will know that challenges will always be posted on one night of the week, and the entries will always be due on another night of the week.
• You can help each other if you want -- remember, we are here to learn and help others discover and grow their talents and skills! BUT, keep in mind that it is still a competition.

Meet the judges!

Let's meet our fabulous design panel! These four judges will be with you every step of the way in order to provide scores, commentary, and advice for your design skills!

• Element -- Host and judge Element was the winner of the first season of this competition. He is super excited for this season, and expects amazing designs over the coming weeks! His favorite type of graphics are album/single covers, and logos!
• dimitrius -- Returning as a judge for a second season, dimitrius quickly made a name for himself on ATRL with his artistic skills. He was nominated for the Art & Design award in this year's ATRL Member Awards, and is an expert in making GIFs!
• Phoenixstar -- Last season's runner-up is back and ready to judge the competition! Phoenix has a fabulous eye for color and use of brushes, and his expertise will surely be great for the contestants.
• MMMinaj -- For a second season, MMMinaj is excited and ready to judge another batch of contestants! MMMinaj is known for his creativity, especially seen in his victory in ATRL's Next Top Member earlier this year!

These four judges will each provide commentary, advice, and scores from 1 to 10 on your work. The public will also vote for part of the competition, with each positive vote earning an entry +0.5 points, and each negative vote resulting in -0.5 points. The scores will be added, and each round the bottom two or three will be announced. The person with the lowest cumulative score in the bottom two or three will be eliminated. (For example: If your score in the first round is 85, the score from the second round will be added to that, in order to determine elimination). Each round, the member with the lowest cumulative score in the bottom group will be eliminated. The host and judges reserve the right to eliminate more than one contestant in any round, possibly through an additional public vote or judge deliberation.
