With the Playstation 4 launch party we knew to expect a number of surprises and we all knew that Naughty Dog had something up their sleeve. There was talk that it could be a new Uncharted game but we also knew that there was an old school game getting revived for the next gen console. There was only one game that Naughty Dog had that could be such big news. (PS4)
Uncharted on PS4, The Last of Us: Left Behind DLC Revealed
November 14th, 2013
We have great news for all our Uncharted fans – Amy, Justin, and the team are hard at work on an amazing new installment of the Uncharted series to be released exclusively on the PlayStation 4 system. Our goal is to continue what we’ve done in previous console generations and once again deliver the best in storytelling, performance capture, technical innovation and graphics on the PS4. We can confirm that the voiceover is performed by Todd Stashwick and he will play a character in the game.
There isn’t much more we can say right now about The Last of Us: Left Behind and even less about our Uncharted project, but feel free to let us know what you think in the comments below. Believe me – we can’t wait to shed more light on both of these projects to our fans.
Naughty Dog Responds to New Uncharted Being ‘Colorless,’ Final Name TBD
November 18th, 2013
While we are all aware by now that Naughty Dog is currently working on the next Uncharted game for PlayStation 4, there’s hardly any details that have been revealed for the game. However, it seems like while some have claimed the game as “colorless,” others are confused over its final name. Now, Naughty Dog has answers to both the statement and the query, respectively. Apparently, there are fans who feel Naughty Dog could have been better of making a new Jak game instead of Uncharted. Recently, during the reveal of the game for Playstation 4 on the official PlayStation blog, a user commented that he’s “tired of these colorless games” and that he wants “a game with a vibrant world. Just like the good old ps2 platformer days.”
To this, Arne Meyer, Community Strategist at Naughty Dog responded by defending against this claim and stated that each of the Naughty Dog developed games are unique, although Naughty Dog will take the advice and try to apply when developing in-game worlds for Uncharted on the PlayStation 4. “I see. Well, I think we’ve made some really colorful worlds with both Uncharted and The Last of Us. They have their own unique elements of course — TLOU was a bit dark, but there was some great bright colors, the sunset lighting in Bill’s Town I always thought was amazing,” Meyer wrote. “The Uncharted games did that too — with the different environments and colorful cities. But we’ll keep that in mind as we build new worlds on a new platform, thanks for letting us know what you like.”
Additionally, on the topic of confusion over the final name of the title, the official Twitter page for Naughty Dog confirmed that there is indeed a new name for the game and that it will be decided later. The team wrote: “no real name yet - so it's just #uncharted for now. we just agreed it's a good day to be a @PlayStation gamer! “Right now everything is just confirming we're working on an #Uncharted game only. the rest, like a name, is TBD,” another tweet regarding the same topic stated.
Playstation Russia confirms Nathan Drake's return in new Uncharted
November 21st, 2013
“We would like to share some important news with you,” is the message posted on the Russian PlayStation Facebook page. “The first trailer of Uncharted on PS4 has been released! Where do you think Nathan Drake’s fate will take him this time?”
The PlayStation Blog opened up voting for “Most Anticipated Game 2014″. Uncharted 4 is suspiciously left off the list.
Uncharted 4 was just announced at VGX, but no gameplay footage was shown. It’s also worth mentioning that people don’t even know if the game will focus on Nathan Drake either.
It’s possible Uncharted 4 won’t arrive until 2015 considering Naughty Dog just released The Last of Us this year. Naughty Dog usually releases a new game every two years since Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 came out in 2007, 2009 and 2011 respectively. I’m guessing the game will take its time since it would be Naughty Dog’s first game to hit the PS4.
Naughty Dog: The “Full Reveal” of Uncharted on PS4 Will Happen in 2014
December 27, 2013
Ever since the new Uncharted game for PS4 was unveiled, there’s been a laundry list of questions about Naughty Dog’s new title. While we made our best attempt to answer most of them a ways back by dissecting the trailer in detail, Naughty Dog has confirmed that “2014 will also bring our full reveal of Uncharted for PS4.” Since they didn’t name a specific date within 2014, don’t be surprised if it stays under wraps for some time, possibly until E3.
Which has a lot of Pirates in its history during the 17th and 18th centuries
Quote:
Ile Sainte-Marie, or St. Mary's Island as it is known in English, became a popular base for pirates throughout the 17th and 18th centuries due to several reasons: it was not far from the maritime routes along which ships returning from the East Indies sailed in transit, their holds overflowing with wealth, it was provided with bays and inlets protected from storms and finally, it had abundant fruit and was situated in quiet waters. Legendary pirates like William Kidd, Robert Culliford, Olivier Levasseur, Henry Every, Abraham Samuel and Thomas Tew, lived in the île aux Forbans, an island located in the bay of Sainte Marie's main town, Ambodifotatra. Many of them would found a family line. Numerous vestiges of this history remain at Sainte Marie. For example, several authentic pirate vessels still lie within a few meters of the surface in the Baie des Forbans. One of these has been tentatively identified as Captain Condent's ship, the Fiery Dragon.
The utopian pirate republic of Libertalia was also rumored to exist in this area, although the republic's existence, let alone its location, has never been proven.
I don't think they would just abandon Nathan Drake. The trailer is probably supposed to be someone from the past like explaining what happened on that island during the 17th and 18th centuries or something and then maybe Drake will go there in modern day to uncover the mystery or whatever.
