Audition venues and guest judges
Simon Cowell,
Louis Walsh, and
Cheryl Cole returned for this season to judge the auditions. Due to her pregnancy
Dannii Minogue didn't attend the auditions and was replaced by guest judges in different venues.
Below is a list of the different cities where auditions were held with the names of guest judges:
- City: Glasgow - Guest Judge: Geri Halliwell
- City: Birmingham - Guest Judge: Natalie Imbruglia
- City: London - Guest Judge: None
- City: Dublin - Guest Judge: Katy Perry
- City: Cardiff - Guest Judge: Pixie Lott
- City: Manchester - Guest Judge: Nicole Scherzinger
Bootcamp and judges' houses
For the live bootcamp stages both
Dannii Minogue (maternity leave) and
Cheryl Cole (ongoing recovery) were absent, however,
Nicole Scherzinger returned to fill in
Cheryl Cole's spot on the judges panel.
This year the contestants are divided into four groups, Boys (16-27), Girls (16-27), Groups, and Over 28s. Each judge will mentor 8 acts instead of the usual 6, also it has been confirmed that
Simon Cowell will be mentoring the
Groups in Marbella,
Louis Walsh will be mentoring the
Over 28s in Ireland,
Dannii Minogue will be staying in Australia and most likely mentor the
Boys as she mentored the
Girls last year, and
Cheryl Cole will be staying in Los Angeles and most likely mentoring the
Girls as she mentored the
Boys last year.
