Formed by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory in 1999, Goldfrapp released their first album, Felt Mountain, the following year to great critical acclaim, even being short-listed for the Mercury prize. The ambient album also enjoyed minor commercial success in the UK. So what do you do to follow up such an acclaimed piece of work? You do something totally different!
So how does one describe Goldfrapp? Well, you could call them an "electronic music" duo, but that would be doing them a huge injustice. The truth is that you can't box Goldfrapp into one genre, they've covered everything from trip-hop to synthpop to electroclash to folk. They constantly reinvent the music and image and never repeat themselves. Each release is a new area with Goldfrapp and while some may not always go fantastically well (Tales of Us...), they have built up a sizable back catalogue over the last fourteen years. So we're going to rate it!
Rules: 1. From the list below rate every song from 0 (the lowest) to 10 (the highest). Decimals are allowed! 2. Send the list to me via PM before December 8th (extensions may be granted). 3. Just have some taste please.
Oh yeah, I also gotta ask if you guys think I should include Yellow Halo and the other Tales of Us tracks. I personally think no, even though they have videos none of them got official releases that I know of. Correct me if I'm wrong.
