Discussion: Are minorities united or divided?

Are Minorities united or divided in America? Do you think it's possible that different races have their own "individual" struggles and are unlikely to help each other out with their own experiences like how gays want to remove the "T" in the LGBT movement?

When SJW fight for causes, it's usually for African Americans. I rarely see things from the Latinos or Asians experiences. Do you think more can be accomplished if people are more open to other people's experiences and work together to solve the bigger overall issues? Or should specific ethnic groups just focus on their own causes as minorities can't get along?

EDIT: Oh I thought you meant specific minorities not all. Oh okay, I guess still both. From my experiences, they view the world as one enemy.

Divided and immigrant experiences are different so IDK how ppl can be united. Its partly why I view a lot of black activism as just whining.

What about the non black minorities that were born in America and have been targets of discrimination? Just because someone is Asian/Latino doesn't mean that they're automatically immigrants.

We are kinda divided. But what I hate more is when other minorities try to hate on Black Lives Matter or something African Americans organize and try to police us. Like, no one is stopping yall from doing your thing, and people who are really about change will support it.

Both of these are true in a lot of cases, so the answer is really both united and divided

Being ignored =/= being favoured by society
The world is seen as black and white and it's an issue. People act like those are the only races. If you're not the standard in society, then you deserve to have your issues raised.
Blacks have always been loud about their issues esp when slavery plays a big part into why the world is like this today. Idk about Latinos because there's not much here in the UK. Asians get it hard in the UK, (South Asians mainly) too esp if they're Muslim.
Can you explain why it's hard for an Asian to hit mainstream then? Or why racism towards them is underlooked and is totally casual? It isn't fair for them.

I'd say with the dawn of #BlackLivesMatter we've never been more divided. It's put minority issues into a hierarchy and proclaimed itself as the only important issue of the day. The media has fallen for it and has divided the other issues away as either "unimportant" (Latino issues, disability issues, etc.) or as already solved (LGBT issues, gender issues).

The other races such as Latinos can start #LatinoLivesMatter (esp Trump and his ignorant comments). I'll always support them. The media hasn't fallen for anything, not when people KEEP saying #AllLivesMatter and is totally missing the point. LGBT issues is really in the highlight, esp with Caitlyn Jenner and Obama declaring gay marriage as legal in every state.

African Americans are seen as whiners cause they are speaking up while Asian Americans don't really rally for change. And they have been through just as much stuff in this country.

But I have seen some Asians rally with blacks at black lives matter events. It's small but it's something I think it will take a lot of time and understanding.
