Lady Gaga tops this week's Hot Tours ranking as the pop superstar posts more than $18.5 million in box office grosses from nine sold out performances on her Monster Ball Tour, that recently wrapped after some 200 shows. Included in the tally are concerts in North American arenas as well as the tour's final two dates in Mexican stadiums during the first week of May. Montreal's Bell Centre produced the top gross and attendance among the arenas with $1.6 million in sold tickets ($1.7 million US$) from a packed house of 16,417 on April 25.
The final two shows on the tour were held on May 5-6 at Foro Sol, Mexico City's 55,000-seat outdoor sports stadium. The two sold out performances grossed $6.7 million (US$), the highest gross reported during the 2011 leg of the tour.
Country superstars George Strait and Reba rank No. 2 this week with the final totals reported from their co-headlining tour that also featured fellow country vocalist Lee Ann Womack in the opening slot. The tour wrapped on April 9 at the seven-month old KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky. with a crowd of 15,284 in attendance. Since the tour kicked off in Jan. 2010, box office grosses total $54.9 million from 682,244 tickets sold at the 45 shows that were reported.
With $5.2 million in ticket sales from four performances, Ozzy Osbourne is third among this week's list of the 10 top-grossing tours based on totals reported during the past week. The four concerts all took play in Brazil during April, the last shows on the heavy metal icon's trek through South America in support of his "Scream" album that was released in the summer of 2010. Among the four dates reported, the top-grossing venue was Arena Anhembi in São Paulo with $2.8 million (US$) in sold tickets.
