#1 Fighter Average: 9.05 Highest: 10 (x21) Lowest: 4 (x2) Released: June, 2003 Genre: Rock, pop rock Writer(s): Christina Aguilera, Scott Storch Producer(s): Scott Storch PEAK: #20 (US) MUSIC VIDEO It features Dave Navarro on guitar. In her first single to bear elements of rock music, a seemingly dissatisfied Aguilera seems to bemoan and scream of a man who apparently did her wrong. However, in a surprising twist, she does not want to complain or insult him; in fact, she wants to thank him. "Fighter" became the official anthem for the 2003 NBA Playoffs and was heard during the NBA Finals commercials.

To me it almost sounds like a Beatles song. I was trying to write a song that affected everybody -- this almost desperate cry that 'I am beautiful, no matter what you say,"Linda Perry
Aw, hell. Really? "Fighter" is a winner that only the Bionics would choose. I won't pretend that I don't enjoy its camp appeal, but Christina has too many legitimately GREAT songs in her catalog for this to make any kind of rational sense.

What's so bad about Fighter? I think it's one of her best songs ever.

"Fighter" is not bad, but it's more campy fun than quality pop songwriting. I just think she has a lot of superior work, starting with "Genie in a Bottle," "Come On Over" and "You Lost Me."
For me, it was between ANOM and Fighter, though I hoped ANOM would take the top spot. But then you know how this turned out.
