Seven years ago, tragedy struck the small town of Harper’s Island when one of its citizens went on a killing spree and took the lives of six locals before being killed by the town’s sheriff. They were the first murders in the history of the island.
They will not be the last.
Arriving on the island is a wedding party, celebrating the upcoming marriage of two locals of Harper’s Island. The soon-to-be bride and groom have summoned their closest friends and family to the island to help celebrate their special day.
Little do they all know, with the upcoming wedding, the killer has returned for another murder spree, this time with an accomplice, out to finish what (s)he started seven years ago. Nobody knows the identities of the killers, and they could be anyone in the wedding party.
The Game...
As the members of the wedding party, each of you will be involved in solving the mystery of who the killers are, while also fighting to stay alive. You will each be assigned a role in the wedding party, and in addition, some of you will receive an additional special role. These roles are the killers (2), who will decide which members will be killed, the psychic, who will have the ability to gain information regarding the killers’ attacks and identities, and the cop, who will have the ability to save members of the wedding party.

Your role in the wedding party and character name will be announced in the main thread once sign-ups are complete. You may use this information to form alliances, or you can use any previous knowledge of players to make alliance decisions. But be careful who you trust, because anybody could be a killer!
The Rules...
There will be two time periods in this game: day and night.
During the day, various wedding events will take place and wedding party members will have the ability to vote off the member that they believe is a killer. It’s majority rules here; whoever receives the most votes will be either killed or sent away from the group. Be careful who you vote for, though… you may end up killing an innocent person.
During the night, those with special roles will make their move. The killers will PM each other to discuss who they would like to kill and then PM us with their final decision. The psychic will be able to inquire about the innocence of a member of the wedding party in a PM to us. The cop will be able to PM us the name of the member they would like to protect. If this is the same person the killers were targeting, that person will be saved.
Each day and night will end either when all actions have been completed or when 24 hours passes. This means that days will end after all members have voted and activities are completed or after 24 hours, whichever happens first. Nights will end after all members with special roles have sent in their action or after 24 hours.
About the Show...
For those interested, here is the first part of the first episode of Harper's Island, the TV show this tournament is based on. The show is a murder mystery mini-series consisting of thirteen episodes. This tournament will not have the same killers as the TV series, but for those interested in watching the series (and we highly recommend it, as it is an amazing series), this tournament may contain some spoilers. For those who have seen the show and make posts that contain spoilers, we ask that you please use the "[spoiler]" tag.
