Betty Who talks about the new album
Quote:
You haven’t released anything new from the upcoming album yet. Is it going to be more downbeat like the cover?
It’s kind of all over the place right now. We’re finalizing song choices, so there are definitely new moments on the record for me where I think you’re going to listen to it and be like, what the **** is this? I’m exploring that a little bit and I wanted to find a happy medium and artistically for me, I wanted to expand and challenge myself.
Do you have a timeline for when you’re going to put out the next single?
I’m working definitely hard to put music out. I’m definitely hoping that by end of summer, I’ll have a single out. That’s my plan, I think that’s the label’s plan, and we’re all trying to get together now and bang something out. Because I’m so over writing, in the best way. I’m tapped out, I’ve given everything. I’m very ready to be on the other side of it, which is the releasing music side, as opposed to being in a room with no windows writing songs for 12, 14 hours a day. I need to be out in the world again.
Do you have a name for the album yet?
I don’t. I have a couple of tentative names, but I won’t tell you what they are because I still haven’t decided yet.
When do you plan on releasing the album?
Ugh, I wish I could tell you. I hope by the end of the year, but who knows. I’m a perfectionist and it’s on me for so much of this, because I really want it to be perfect, and if something isn’t perfect, I’ll delay everything. There are 600 people ready to do something, and I’m like, “No! Everybody, it’s not right!” I’m hoping that once it is out there, people will understand why I waited.
