Stepping into Generation 3 was a big deal for the Pokémon franchise. The new handheld technology meant that so much more was possible but it also meant a lack of connection with the previous games in the franchise, there was no time machine here. Pair this with mixed reactions to the new pokémon designs and the backlash was immense. The era is more fondly remembered nowadays but at the time, and for many years after, there was full-on war and some of those seeds of bitterness remain even today. So now we get to rate them objectively to see what the best of this bunch is.
Rules:
