Very true. I get your point. Christina took a risk with 'Stripped' for the first time, and it payed off. However, by the time she got to 'Bionic', it became too much for people. Do you think the public can handle another risk, especially when it's following 'Born This Way'? I HOPE they can.

Back To Basics, as much as i love it, isnt so out-the-box. It was unusual of her to put out an album like that but still the singles were commercial except SMFM.
Bionic was done to smash but failed, lets be honest. The upbeat tracks are nothing new, just following trends from 2006 that Timbaland created.

Gaga is already riskier than Xtina, so yes.

Nope, every Xtina album's always a massive risk which the huge component of that comes from her legendary voice risk taking, and anyways Stefani's done nothing that X already did.

'The Fame Monster' and 'Born This Way' are both riskier than anything Christina has done.

Yeah her team expected it to smash way harder than it did but it was not commercial enough to smash as hard as the expectations. It was too risky to do so.
