I am talking about eras with tons of hits that just don't seem that big for some reason.
For example: Maroon 5's V had Maps, Animals and Sugar and yet i feel like they barely made any impact. I have only heard the first 2 once or twice, and Sugar i've heard a lot but just didn't care enough to notice it.
Katy Perry's teenage dream one, had so many hits yet it felt like she had such a small impact. I think she was "bigger" in the Prism era even tho it only had two big hits.

Anyway, RED by Taylor comes to mind. Felt shortlived but she sold very well.

They had 4-5 huge hits and the album sold well. They did tons of promo for it too. But I still only heard one of the singles on radio and I don't remember any song, video or performance from that era
At the time Gaga, Adele, Rihanna were all bigger and overshadowed Katy and so her era felt small, she still had huge hits but yeah. I mean even at the VMAs in 2011 when Katy won VOTY, she was overshadowed by Gaga, Beyonce & Adele...
Now in retrospect you can see it was successful, but Katy was far bigger during PRISM.
