Seeing as I have only been a member since November, this is my first Best Of thread. I have compiled a list of my favourite 40 albums to be released this year. I have thought hard about which albums to include. The method I used to decide which album to include was simple - Have I enjoyed this album this year? Will I enjoy this album in years to come? As a little starter, here's one album which was sadly released a few weeks too early to chart on my Best Of. This album is one which I have *****d out and adored ever since it's release in December 2009. Here it is:



Alicia Keys - The Element Of Freedom

Just listen to Alicia's voice - she pours so much emotion into all of the songs. I love to just sit there and relax whilst listening to this masterpiece. If you haven't listened to this album yet, I recommend it, you will NOT be dissapointed.

Corinne Bailey Rae – The Sea

Corinne's second studio album, released in February, takes a less poppy approach than her self-titled debut album. Instead, Corinne delivers her more emotional side. For instance, I'd Do It All Again is about her late husband. Sit down, relax, and just carefully listen to the lyrics. But don't forget the catchiness of most of the songs too - songs such as The Blackest Lily and Paris Nights / New York Mornings stick in your head for days.

Kings Of Leon – Come Around Sundown

I've never been a fan of the Kings Of Leon. I'd never even heard of them before Sex On Fire. However, when this album leaked, I thought I'd give it a go. So I downloaded it - and I was not disappointed. Songs like Radioactive, Pyro, Mary and Back Down South make the album worthy of this list.
