Is Beyonce's musicianship underrated??
Everyone mentions that she has a great technique and skill, but many look over her musicality as a vocalist, overall.. She has the ability use her technical skill and prowess to deliver vocals with finesse and understanding of the lyric. You often hear people discuss her feats and abilities as a vocalists and rather or not she sings with enough "emotion", but very rarely do I hear discussions about INCREDIBLE ear, sense of pitch, lyrical expression and musical coherence. She has a great sense of rhythm, varied phrasing and the ability to manipulate their voice to fit virtually anything..Not only that but she's ALWAYS connected to the scale, melodically and rhythmically creative, while being "musically" sound.. Astounding vocal musician, IMO
..to me she doesn't get enough credit/recognition from it (sans vocal enthusiasts/musicians)
..Do you agree??

Yes, but you're not going to convince many people on ATRL. They don't really care about that kind of stuff. They mostly care about "bops" and sales and charts

No. Aside from being a singer, she does nothing on her albums. I'm probably going to be warned for saying this, but how can we believe any Beyoncé writing, producing or w/e credits when it has been proven that she's bought them in the past? Like I said, she's a great vocalist, even though she lip syncs a lot, and Hive should be happy enough with that.

Yes. The "she doesn't sing with emotion" bit kills me everytime I hear it

This hasn't been proven at all LOL.
And the asnwer is yes! I'd also like to include her stellar improve abilities. The way she's able to come up with the most intricate runs and melodic lines at the drop of a hat is just

She has never bought any writing credits. wtf? Everything you people think she stole, she's actually given credit to but ofc, throwing shade is way more fun than acknowledging that. And she's involved with EVERYTHING on her albums from writing to producing to changing up a song completely to creating brand new vocal arrangements that take the song to new heights. This is the woman that recorded 2 albums behind her label's back. At LEAST know something before you come in here to spew nonsense.
AND the girl in your avi is still ****ing ugly.

Yes. Most people are too ignorant to realize this.

Yes. I mean when countless producers and people she has worked with had said she's taken songs to new heights, and done things with songs they would never have imagined etc, that is definitely underrated when all people like to say is "she steals credits" "she needs 4 writers on one song" (both of which are false)

I think Beyoncé gets the right amount of attention/credit/acclaim/praise, etc.
Whatever credit people don't give her in musicianship as far as vocals, they definitely make up for by giving her too much for songs that she doesn't actually write or contribute any lyrics to (which has been confirmed by people like Frank Ocean, Ne-Yo, Miguel, The Dream, Linda Perry, countless others).
I mean every artist is going to encounter issues with their music and people claiming this and that but it's been too much, too often for Beyoncé so I think she gets the right amount of attention/acclaim/praise considering....and none of that takes anything away from Beyoncé. Just because she doesn't write doesn't make her less of an artist.
Basically she might be underrated vocally and overrated as far as songwriting so it all evens out.

This is an example of what I'm talking about.
A vast majority don't even know that songwriting does not=writing lyrics its much more than that.
Composing and arranging is where Beyoncé's MUSICAL WRITING TALENTS lye and artists who do this ARE credited as a songwriters.
You don't have to write a single lyric to be the main writer of a song.
I just think its funny that the most important part of music is always ignored on this site.

The lyrics are the main part of the song, and sorry, I'd take Linda Perry and Diane Warren's word for it over yours about what songwriting IS and ISN'T and they both have very clearly expressed their opinion on this and it doesn't align with yours. At all.

Damn, people who work with her? What would they gain by saying that?

They've never worked with Beyoncé how would they know how Bey writes?
And I'm not arguing about what they think songwriting is. (They surely know)
It's not that hard to look up the definition/look what it is:
