I ask this because though albums such as Beyonce's recent record and a few other themed-heavy albums are meant to be heard in full, emphasis is being put on singles these days rather than a complete body of work.
Sure, albums are always going to exist, but should the music business be focusing on EP's full of singles rather than whipping up useless filler album tracks supported by strong singles? Let's face it - the rise of "artists" looking to make a quick buck with a catchy jingle and putting out an album just to complete the process is becoming the norm so are full length albums becoming a thing of the past?
Should every artist have to make an album? Do you think it's a good idea to start focusing on EP's or releasing single after single without a body of work if you don't have any intention of making it cohesive? Discuss the future of music.
