If you were an unsigned artist and you had the opportunity to experience commercial success ONLY if you changed your sound and image by using sex appeal, commercial radio kid friendly 3:30 songs and various other stunts to gain notoriety would you?
I'd rather sign to some indie label and then build a fan base that would directly give me their $$$ by coming to my concerts.

I would up until the point Im super successful. Then I wouldnt do anything connected to music but still somehow manage to stay relevant by attending parties and such. During this process, I would slightly change my look, so that the gossip around my name would increase. 3 months before my album release, I would then leave the spotlight and would change my entire sound to the music I would want to make including a fitting style. Once I come back, people would be shocked to see my new me, I would probably still sell well due to the shock + I got to do the music I wanted to do.
I'd start churning out Kid Bopz Katy Perry songs like it's nothing for a quick coin. I don't give a ****. I want a 24Mill mansion, artist integrity won't pay for it.
