This catchy midtempo is a standout track on
her album and the chorus got stuck in my head from the very first time I listened to it.
If it didn't have that attrocious "we'll fυck for life" lyric, it'd be a bit higher though
Lights Slow Celebration
Alternative
This song proves that quirky and catchy can
coexist effortlessly. My favorite part is when
the background sounds are toned down
during the chorus
This is the definition of a happy song. It's so
carefree and uplifting, yet lyrically it's pretty
dark. It's about needing someone to light up
your life. I love this contrast and how it's sad
and happy at the same time
Happy Little Pill Troye Sivan
Alternative Pop "Glazed eyes, empty hearts buying happy
from shopping carts / Nothing but time to
kill, sipping life from bottles" is a perfect
depiction of modern society and I love how
it's expressed with soft vocals over a quite
simplistic production
Mr President Pia Mia
Urban Pop
The pre-chorus slays me extremely hard.
I don't even know why. It just does. I also
love her yelled out high notes in the hook.
Overall a bop
Talking Body is really good! I'm so glad it's the next single (I love the whole album )
Happy Little Pill is amazing. I need to check out that song from Lights
I had to create an eligibility period from December 13th 2013 to December 12th 2014 because otherwise I'd have about 250 songs Say Something was released 5 weeks before the eligibility period I did manage to sneak Legend X into the list though
There's something about a male singer who
sings his chorus in falsetto. Except if it's
Pharell cause ain't nobody got time for that
whispering mess. Erik's voice gives me chills
and so do the lyrics
Big Girls Cry Faceless white wig feat. Sia
Pop
The best part is when the admiteddly generic
production stops in the last line of the chorus.
If she had actually hit the high note you can
hear fading into a fasletto scream during the
bridge and if I could sing along to the lyrics
without a sex change, it would be top 50
One Step Back Goldlink
Rap
Goldlink is one of my favorite new rappers
because of his signature sound and unique
voice. Pair that up with a smooth production
and you have one of the best rap songs of
the year
No Rest For The Wicked Lykke Li
Alternative
The anthemic chorus slayed me. And then
when she sings "I let my good one down /
I let my true love down / I had his heart but I
broke it every time", I was WEAK
BO$$ Fifth Harmony
Urban Pop
Much like Sia's "Big Girls Cry", this is
another song I can't sing along to cause
I'm not a girl and I don't idolize Oprah. But
those drums are just so irresistible.
