HUGAMARI'S DANCE PARTY: Best of 2014

So this is my first PLANNED Year-End (I've been preparing since this January, actually!), and I am really excited to get this show on the road! Don't worry - I will not be abandoning this after one day. 
As I've said, I've been planning this all year and I put too much work in to give up now.
For my year-ends, I decided to give each year a theme, and this year, I really feel like "dance party" perfectly describes my favorite songs of the year! Many of the songs will be upbeat, catchy, in-your-face, and made to have a good time - but don't let that fool you, I have an emotional side, too, and it will show sometimes. Not too much, though - this is my dance party, and I want my countdown to feel like one!
My Year-End Dance Party Celebration will include:
SONGS OF THE YEAR
Should be obvious already, but my songs of the year will be my main focus. I took many factors into consideration when making this list: How much I initially enjoyed the song, how much I continued to listen to the song, how many plays it has on iTunes/last.fm, and my emotional attachment to the song are all factors in deciding the list. With this said, please note that for my Year Ends, songs that I first started to enjoy this year will be charting, regardless of their actual year of release! The release date of a song is NOT a factor in deciding a song's fate, however, remixes and covers (unless I discovered the source of the remix/cover this year, too) are ineligible. |  |
 | HUGAMARI'S DANCE FLOOR SPOTLIGHT
I will be honest, when making this list, I had to remove some things that really gutted me, or there will be songs that I wish I could put on the chart, even if they would've charted last year (or even before), and I'll feel like they need some love. Hugamari's dance floor spotlight will be me giving special recognition to songs, albums, or artists that are important to me, but just couldn't make my year-end this year. |
HUGAMARI'S ARTIST HIGH SCORES
Rather than just make a "Top Artists" countdown, I decided it would be fun for you guys to see how an artist fares on my "high scores". How this will work is when an artist has an entry on my year-end chart, a number of points will be awarded to them - Entry #100 gets 1 point, Entry #1 gets 100 points. The artist who scores the most points will be crowned my Artist of the Year. |  |

Okay, so I will admit that this was heavily inspired by Rem's "performances" segment, although they won't be artists performing their songs, rather, this is my most personal segment. Things that will happen in this segment could be me talking about an event that happened in my life, telling a fictional story, talking about members I like, and possibly even musical performances!  (Don't worry - I would never offend you guys with my singing ) |
