This forum is for those of us on ATRL who like Rock music and want to talk about the format. We can discuss the sub-genres of Active Rock, Alternative Rock, Heritage Rock, Mainstream Rock, AAA Rock, and Christian Rock, as each of these sub-formats have a weekly chart measuring airplay in either Billboard and/or Mediabase.
Currently there is no thread on ATRL where the Rock music format or any of the above listed sub-genres of Rock are discussed, so I took the initiative and started one up. Here we can talk about the Rock charts on Mediabase, Billboard, Neilsen, and Soundscan for selling and streaming. We can help others find out the names of bands and songs, and how well the songs or albums performed on the charts.
Artists, albums, and singles are all fair game. Just treat everyone with respect, and each artist with respect. I do not like blasphemous bands, but I will remain quiet about them. In three weeks I will restart my music blog, where I will use Mediabase to do the Top 30 Active Rock and Alternative Rock songs each week, and Top 15 Heritage/Mainstream and AAA Rock songs each week (along with my Country Top 30). If you have friends who are rockers, please let them know about this thread.
AWOLNATION's new single is doing surprisingly well but honestly it isn't that good. Same for Passion Pits, a lot of these comebacks haven't been very good. I am in love however with the new Florence and Death Cab For Cutie singles. I hate alt radio for not playing Brandon Flowers too what's wrong with them?!
Great idea.
I hope you guys are pumped for Alabama Shakes new album (released next Monday). The 1st single is currently #2 on AAA and climbing the ALT chart.
I'm surprised how well Active and Mainstream/Heritage Rock has embraced the Zac Brown Band's (with Chris Cornell) "Heavy Is The Hand," since the song is by a Country band. It fits the format well, and is a great song, but still seeing Zac Brown atop another chart other than Country takes some getting used to.
I started listening to Hole in October last year and I've become more and more obsessed since then. Live Through This and Celebrity Skin are two incredible records.

according to the person that posts the mediabase airplay updates for certain formats in the US Airplay Thread told me its because of Chris Cornell the format gave the Zac Brown Band song a chance
