Why did Rihanna choose This Is What You Came For over Cheap Thrills?
I feel the latter is the better song and it outshines the other at the end without any scandal and all.
TIWYF is a bop but it remains a dance-club song and will soon be forgotten as are most songs of that genre. Not every song in that vein can be We Found Love.
If Sia really reaches #1 this week, then
Rihanna could have easily pulled Cheap Thrills as well.
I wish she did. A slow-tempo version of Break it Off 2.0.
My dad tells me that Cheap Thrills reminds him of Rihanna and she would have sounded good on that track He didn't even know it was a rihject. I like her on TIWYCF and I think her voice is the highlight of the song.
tbh Cheap Thrills is not that big a loss..like sure it's going to become one of the biggest songs of the year but idk..it will be forgotten..the real loss is "Lean On" however she was given a tragic demo version so it's normal that she rejected it I guess. another true tragedy is her leaving "Reaper" because that song sounds like one of those classics that will be remembered for a very long time and covered by many.
She wasn't even going to record TIWYCF until two weeks before it's release..... She couldn't have recorded Cheap Thrills because it's not like the rest of ANTi at all.
