Dolly Parton and Katy Perry — an unlikely but awesome pair — killed it at the Academy of Country Music Awards with their rousing renditions of Parton’s best hits. The much-hyped performance marks the first time the two have ever performed together live.

What an incredible duet! After Katy Perry presented Dolly Parton with the Tex Ritter Award at the 2016 ACMs, the singers took the stage together to perform three of Dolly’s biggest hits — and it was amazing!
As if it wasn’t unreal enough to see a country legend sing with one of pop music’s biggest names, the ladies looked as flawless as they sounded. They both dressed totally wild, with Katy sporting a festive hot pink cowgirl outfit and Dolly donning a sparkly multicolored sequin blazer (her own coat of many colors!). Maybe they are cut from the same lamay after all, just like Katy said in her introduction!

Is Katy Perry country music’s next superstar? … OK, no one’s making that leap quite yet, but the “I Kissed a Girl” singer did nail a killer duet with country queen Dolly Parton during the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday.

Pop star Katy Perry isn't usually considered a country singer, but she took a walk on the wild side on Sunday night when she took the stage at the ACM Awards. Perry performed a duet with the legendary Dolly Parton, and I'm happy to report that she killed it. Not only that, but she did so without her earpiece, too. Why did Katy Perry take out her earpiece, though?
ACM and Katy Perry haven't taken to social media to explain what happened, but fans definitely noticed when she pulled her earpiece out mid-performance — mostly because she continued to sound really, ridiculously good.

It was an easy show to steal considering that (1) Dolly is the greatest woman left alive in country music, (2) the performance included two of the greatest country songs in history, and (3) Tim McGraw had the only other decent song on the roster and his performance was a bit off.

The acclaim. Not many artists had the privilege of performing with Dolly.

pretty much.
nonetheless congrats to both. Dolly's music is truly timeless and I got emotional looking at her performing one of my favorite songs of all time.

Yeah, no. lolol
I just watched their performance and it's more like Dolly stole the show. You can barely hear Katy singing, plus she looked awkward af on that stage. It's like she didn't know what to do, so she just awkwardly moved from side to side. lolol

I don't think it would be that hard to steal some country awards show that I've never heard of

Not everyone can nail Tribute act performances. Only those with talent and personality. Good thing Dolly doesn't have children that will talk negatively about Katy even though she did the duet justice

Eek! It looks like some people in here need to take a trip to their public library and join a literacy class because the reading comprehension in here is a mess!
Glad my fave stole yet another show
